COVID19 Lockdown Reflection!

We were learning to use WeVideo and make a 4-videos-in-one Reflection of our COVID19 Lockdown. The most challenging part for me was getting the time on all four videos right so that it could run smoothly. The easiest part was putting the videos together on WeVideo and editing them. Next time I will more confident in what I am doing.

  1. Kia ora Malsha. What an awesome reflection, video and reflection. Ka rawe! I really connected with the being stuck inside because of the rain part of your reflection. Being outside is way more fun! Do you think that this 'Lockdown' experience has changed the way kids feel about getting outside and being active? Keep up the awesome mahi!

    1. Hi Mr Fourie. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog. Yes, I think the Lockdown has changed the the that children feel about going outside and being active. This is mainly because I know that I also feel different, especially after those rainy days inside. Thank you again for comment and time.

  2. Kia ora Malsha,
My name is Amie Williams and I work as a Manaiakalani facilitator in schools here in Tairāwhiti, just like Mr Fourie. I get to see lots of kids using technology and cybersmart learning in so many schools, but yours - wow! That was impressive! What a creative way to share what you've been up to, and I really loved how you used your glances in different directions to cue us as to which video was going to play next. That was so neat! I guess this lockdown and remote learning time has had us all doing things pretty differently... but it's great to see that some of those things make really creative reflections to look back on!
Keep up the amazing creative work Malsha, I can't wait to see what you do next!
    Happy creating!

    1. Hi Mrs Williams. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog. Making those glances was at first challenging because the camera would make me look in the other direction and I kept forgetting that, so it took a couple of attempts to get it accurate enough. Again, thank you for your comment and time.

  3. Kia ora Malsha,
What a creative way to share your reflections on lockdown. I agree with Mrs Williams, 'the look' was a good device to cue us in. Now you have this 4-in-one format sorted. I wonder what else you might use it for.
I would like to learn how to do this 4-in-one format too. Where do I go to find out?

    1. Hi Mrs Krausse. Thank you for your time and comment. Yes I thought looking at where I was to might be good way to make the videos seem connected and more like one big video. To make the separate videos smaller(on WeVideo), you have to double click the recording strip, once you see the video, click on it and you can adjust its size from the corners. Thank you for you comment and time.

    2. Thanks for that tip on what to do. My plan is to practice this in the term break.

  5. Hi Malsha. I love your little production mate. Mr Huhu has been filling me in about the WeVideo tool and has asked me to buy licences for your hub. After seeing your presentation I am definitely going to give him permission to charge ahead and secure this software for others to use. Of course I know you are an amazing cricketer (I won't forget that 50 against Campion) which is why I made you captain and it was nice to see some of your other interests and talents. What are you looking forward to most when you return to school? Keep the posts coming Malsha.
    Regards, Mr Udall

    1. Hi Mr Udall. Thank you for your comment and time. Seeing my friends is, at the moment, what I am looking forward to the most. Even though I sometimes see them remotely, I sort of feel like I am talking to a computer screen. At first the lockdown was full of backyard cricket until the three balls got hit over the fences into three different yards. I liked using WeVideo because I was able to put 4 videos together to make one and also put background music and sound effects. Thank you again for your comment and time. (I had written this in lockdown but had forgotten to click reply so it ended up as a comment on my blog.)

  7. Malsha thank you for introducing me to WeVideo, which is such a cool way to share different ideas and characters. You shared information from different perspectives in a way that was very engaging. How could you use this process to interview other groups and see how they reacted or commented on the same ideas? Well done.
